About Jamie

Jamie Graham is an independent singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and R&D engineer based in Toronto, Ontario. He writes lyric-driven indie alternative music on piano and guitar exploring themes of modernity, relational complexity, mental illness, and existential reflection.

As an R&D engineer with a background in physics, applied mathematics, computational neuroscience, and machine learning, he builds thoughtful technology from first principles. His work explores how careful design can help people think more clearly, create more deeply, and reclaim time for what matters most.

His musical work sits at the intersection of the literary singer-songwriter tradition and diverse genres such as jazz, folk, rock, nu-disco, funk, art-pop and art-rock.

Upcoming Featured Release

Window Walls

Window Walls is my second full-length studio album, to be released in late 2026. This album grew out of a period where I was working in industry as an artificial intelligence engineer, living in a downtown Toronto condo lined with floor-to-ceiling windows, and burning out quietly behind a life that looked, from the outside, like it was going great.

It's a lyric-driven art-pop psychological horror record, moving through nu-disco, funk, jazz, folk, and art-rock. It explores the polished life successful professionals build to be seen from the outside: downtown apartments, glass towers, ambition, romance, nightlife, self-improvement, tasteful domesticity.

The title comes from the window walls themselves: an architectural promise of light, openness, and status that also makes your life exposed, expensive, and hard to actually live inside. Across thirteen songs, overstimulation, chronic stress, addiction, psychological and relational decay, and high-functioning depression sit just behind a surface that still looks fine.

Hurricane Violet (2022)

Hurricane Violet is a lyric-driven concept album chronicling lived experience with major depression, told through magic realism and farce. Beneath apartments, storms, and city detail, it traces the brutal honesty of mental illness and the difficulty of caring for someone inside it.

SONGWRITING WORKSPACE FOR DEEPER LYRIC WRITING

LineRoom

LineRoom is a songwriting workspace I built for collecting lyrics, voice notes, fragments, drafts, revisions, rhyming dictionaries, thesauri, and calibrated intelligent feedback in one place. It grew out of my own writing process, where ideas were scattered across notes apps, voice memos, text editors, and reference tools, and where thoughtful lyric feedback was surprisingly difficult to find. The goal was to create a calmer, more integrated way to write songs while helping writers deepen their craft.

The intelligent critique module is designed around a simple principle: AI should not write the song for you. It should help you hear your own draft more clearly. Rather than flattening a lyric into generic advice, it identifies places where intention, imagery, rhythm, structure, or emotional logic may be out of alignment, then offers specific questions and observations to revise against.

LineRoom is designed for writers who work through accumulation: stray lines, melodies, notes app fragments, alternate verses, voice memos, late-night revisions, and half-formed ideas that still have something alive inside them. It gives all of that material a place to gather, evolve, and eventually become finished songs, without taking authorship away from the writer.
